Browns' Mike Hall Jr. pleads no contest to misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge

AVON LAKE, Ohio — Cleveland Browns rookie defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. pleaded no contest Thursday to a reduced charge of misdemeanor disorderly conduct in Avon (Ohio) Lake Municipal Court after being arrested in August following an alleged domestic dispute.

Hall was fined $250 and issued a suspended 30-day jail sentence and two years probation.

Hall was arrested Aug. 13 on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge involving a woman who told police she was his fiancee. According to the incident report filed by police, Hall allegedly attempted to force the woman out of the front door and later dragged her on her back across the front porch and to the end of the driveway.

The alleged victim was in the courthouse Thursday, but did not want to speak in court.

Though the resolution opens the door for Hall to be cleared to play, he remains on the commissioner’s exempt list. The NFL immediately opened its own investigation of the case, and though Hall could be reinstated at any point, there’s no timeline for an NFL ruling.

Hall, a 2024 second-round pick, has been allowed inside the Browns’ facility, but he’s not been allowed to practice. The Browns let Hall practice the day after the incident and probably would immediately let him back on the field, but general protocol is the team gets a temporary roster exemption when a player is reinstated.
