What to expect from The Athletic Hockey Show this season

With the NHL season’s official start fast approaching, The Athletic Hockey Show has a revamped lineup to keep fans informed and entertained.

It starts on Mondays with co-hosts Max Bultman and Mark Lazerus, who will dive into the biggest stories and trends around the league.

Each week, either Pierre LeBrun or Chris Johnston, The Athletic’s NHL insiders, will join the show to break down the latest news from the hockey world. Our goaltending guru, Jesse Granger, will regularly appear as well, offering his insight into arguably the least-understood position in sports.

On Wednesdays, Sean Gentille, Sean McIndoe and “honorary Sean” Frank Corrado bring their wry humor and unique perspectives to the stories the hockey world is buzzing about. Corrado, who played for the Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Maple Leafs and Pittsburgh Penguins, will be on the show each week, offering fans a glimpse into the mentality within an NHL locker room.

On Thursdays, Gentille and Hailey Salvian will do a more concentrated deep dive into a story or issue facing the league, while keeping tabs on the PWHL.

Finally, we wrap the week on Fridays with our Prospect Series, as Bultman welcomes The Athletic prospect experts Corey Pronman and Scott Wheeler, as well as FloHockey’s Chris Peters, to discuss the next generation of NHL stars.
