Unai Emery says midfield trio Jacob Ramsey, Amadou Onana and Leon Bailey are injury doubts for Aston Villa’s Premier League match against Manchester United on Sunday.

Villa host United four days after upsetting six-time European Cup winners Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Ramsey was forced off 27 minutes into Wednesday’s 1-0 win and was replaced by Bailey, who then had to be substituted 15 minutes into the second half with an issue of his own.

“Both are now doubts,” Emery said on Friday. “I don’t know if they are going to be available for Sunday. Tomorrow (Saturday) we will train. But they are so, so tight.

“If they are available on Sunday, they’re not going to be 100 per cent fit.

“But we will need every player. Tomorrow we are going to train and it depends how they feel. At the moment, today, they are doubts.”

Onana, who joined the club from Everton in the summer, also limped off on the hour mark in midweek and now faces a late fitness test to gauge his availability for Sunday.

“He is a doubt but I think he will be available,” said Emery, who also remains without captain John McGinn due to a hamstring issue.

“He’s not a really serious injury, but playing matches during the week and at the weekend, we have to be clinical in our decision close to arriving at the next match.”

Emery’s side are fifth in the Premier League table having taken 13 points from their opening six games.
