Head coach Fabian Hurzeler has blamed Brighton & Hove Albion’s late slip up against Wolverhampton Wanderers on immaturity and a lack of professionalism.
Substitute Evan Ferguson’s first goal for 11 months after 85 minutes put Brighton 2-0 up after Danny Welbeck’s sixth goal in nine Premier League games just before half-time.
But Wolves, bottom of the table at the start of the game, forced a 2-2 draw with goals by Rayan Ait-Nouri (88) and Matheus Cunha three minutes into added time.
Hurzeler said: “We lost two points and we failed today in our development. We were not mature enough, not professional enough to win this game. We have to learn quick from this.”
Ait-Nouri’s goal came from a corner that was not cleared, while Cunha’s equaliser on the counter-attack followed a pass by substitute Mats Wieffer which was intercepted by Wolves midfielder Tommy Doyle when the visitors were outnumbered by four players to one.

Hurzeler added: “You don’t win games like this in a beautiful way and then you have to win in an ugly way.
“Up to the second goal from us, we controlled the game, defended quite well and we became too passive.
“We were not ruthless enough in defending set pieces, we had a big chance to go for the third goal, we missed this and then get punished. We were not acting professionally and we have to learn from this. That is very important.”
Brighton captain Lewis Dunk will have a scan on a calf injury sustained in the warm-up which prevented him making his 250th Premier League appearance, as Igor Julio was drafted back into the centre of defence at short notice.
Brighton face Liverpool in the last 16 of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, then go to Anfield to play Liverpool again in the league three days later.
