Dolphins list Tyreek Hill, Tua Tagovailoa as questionable entering Week 8

The Miami Dolphins enter Week 8 brimming with renewed optimism for their season, sparked by the nearing return of Tua Tagovailoa. But, based on Friday’s injury report, the starting quarterback and his team still have a few key hurdles to clear ahead of Sunday.

The Dolphins listed Tagovailoa, on injured reserve since suffering a concussion in Week 2, and the QB’s top receiver Tyreek Hill as the only questionable players for their Week 8 game against the Arizona Cardinals. Hill did not practice Friday after popping up as “limited” on Thursday’s injury report with an undisclosed foot injury.

Despite the designations, coach Mike McDaniel has maintained a hopeful tone regarding both players’ availability, even noting on Friday he’s “very optimistic” Hill will play.

As for Tagovailoa, his status appears to be more of a formality after the 2023 Pro Bowler cleared the concussion protocol. Aside from the impact on the team’s chances, Tagovailoa’s pending return from injured reserve speaks volumes to the 26-year-old’s ability to recover from yet another significant injury in hopes of getting his career back on track.

On the defensive side of the ball, Miami had a surprise addition to the injury report when defensive tackle Zach Sieler was listed as out after suffering a fractured orbital during Thursday’s practice. It is unclear how much time Sieler will miss. The nine-year veteran has 18 tackles, two sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery this season.

The Dolphins (2-4) will kick off against the Cardinals (3-4) inside Hard Rock Stadium at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday in a matchup sure to carry plenty of intrigue for Dolphins fans and fantasy football managers alike.
