USMNT striker Falorin Balogun dislocated his left shoulder during AS Monaco’s victory over Rennes on Saturday.
Balogun will undergo further assessments in the coming days to determine the best course of action.
The 23-year-old scored the winning goal in the first half of Saturday’s 2-1 Ligue 1 victory but was forced off after 63 minutes at Roazhon Park.
He was escorted off the pitch by members of Monaco’s medical team and appeared in visible discomfort.
Balogun was named in Mauricio Pochettino’s maiden U.S. squad for October’s international friendlies against Panama and Mexico earlier this month.
The U.S. play Panama on October 12 in Austin, Texas, and Mexico on October 15 in Guadalajara.
Forwards Ricardo Pepi, Josh Sargent and Haji Wright were also selected by Pochettino for October’s fixtures.
Balogun has scored three goals in six Ligue 1 appearances for Monaco this season and has a goal in each of his last three league outings.
He joined Monaco from Arsenal in the summer of 2023 and has provided 11 goals and eight assists in 41 appearances in all competitions for the club.
Balogun pledged his international allegiance to the U.S. last year and has scored five goals in 17 appearances for his country.
