Bayern Munich midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic has suffered a suspected broken collarbone.
Pavlovic, 20, fell awkwardly on his right shoulder in the fifth minute of Bayern’s Bundesliga game against Stuttgart on Saturday, and was replaced by fellow midfielder Joao Palhinha.
Bayern won the match 4-0 to remain unbeaten domestically but, speaking after the game, Max Eberl, the club’s board member for sport, confirmed the suspected diagnosis.
“He’s being examined,” Eberl said. “It does look like a broken collarbone. It’s very serious for Aleksandar.”
This is Pavlovic’s second full season in Bayern’s first-team. The academy graduate, who was born in Munich, became a first-team regular in 2023-24 under former head coach Thomas Tuchel, also winning his first caps for Germany.
However, he missed the 2024 European Championship due to a tonsillitis infection and this latest setback will rule him out of Bayern’s Champions League game against Barcelona on Wednesday evening.
