Former Manchester City and Italy striker Mario Balotelli has signed for Serie A side Genoa.
The 34-year-old has been without a club since leaving Turkish side Adana Demirspor following the expiration of his contract in July.
Genoa will be the 11th club of Balotelli’s senior career, which began at Inter Milan in 2007, and marks a return to Italian football after three years away.
The striker won six trophies at Inter including three successive Serie A titles and the 2009-10 Champions League trophy.
He signed for Manchester City in 2010 and won the FA Cup in his debut season and the Premier League title the following year.
Balotelli joined AC Milan in January 2013, scoring 30 goals across a season-and-a-half before joining Liverpool, netting just four goals for the club before returning to Milan on a loan deal for the 2015-16 campaign.
The 36-time capped Italy international then had two-and-a-half years at Nice before short stints at Marseille, Brescia, Monza, Adana Demirspor and Sion, before returning to Turkish club Adana Demirspor last season.
Balotelli scored seven goals in 16 appearances in 2023-24, with a knee injury keeping him out for two months. He has been a free agent since the end of the season.
Genoa are 18th in Serie A and are next in action at home to Fiorentina on Thursday.
