Blues' Dylan Holloway feeling 'OK' but not practicing day after taking puck to neck

ST. LOUIS — After leaving the St. Louis Blues bench on a stretcher during Tuesday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, forward Dylan Holloway was not on the ice Wednesday for practice but was at the practice facility and is feeling OK, according to the team.

Holloway is expected to provide an update on his health condition after practice.

Holloway, 23, was hit in the neck area by a shot from Tampa Bay’s Nick Paul in the first period of the Blues’ 3-2 win over the Lightning. He continued his shift and was involved in the play for more than a minute before heading to the bench. When Holloway reached the bench, teammate Alexey Toropchenko noticed that he was in discomfort and alerted athletic trainer Ray Barile.

The game was stopped for several minutes while Barile and other medics attended to Holloway and placed him on a stretcher. Holloway was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was alert and stable.

It’s not known if Holloway will play in Thursday’s game against Utah, but at this point, all signs with his health are positive.

This story will be updated.
