Anthony Richardson claims he isn’t pondering the future. Even after leading Indianapolis on a dramatic game-winning drive at New England that essentially saved his team’s playoff hopes, the young quarterback was quick to dismiss the idea of looking ahead to the playoffs.
No peeking, he insisted.
“We’re not even thinking about the long run, honestly, right now,” Richardson said after the game. “We’re just trying to take it one game at a time.”
Nice try.
Richardson’s teammates said what their quarterback wouldn’t after moving to 6-7 on the season with four games left to make a postseason push. Linebacker Grant Stuard made the playoffs as a rookie in 2021, but that was as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He’s never experienced a playoff game with the Colts, and he’s eager to change that.
“This is the start of a run that we need to go on,” Stuard said after knocking off the Patriots. “We are trying to keep this momentum and go 4-0 in our next four games and keep this win streak alive.”
And to keep their season alive.
