Quarterback TJ Finley is looking for his fifth school and a fresh start in 2025.
The 6-foot-7 Louisiana native and former LSU signee started the first three games of the 2024 season at Western Kentucky before being sidelined by an ankle injury in mid-September. He didn’t play again in 2024.

Finley is one of the more experienced starting quarterbacks in the transfer portal. He has a 14-13 record in 27 starts, including an 8-5 mark as the full-time starter at Texas State in 2023 when he completed 67.4 percent of his attempts for 3,439 yards, 24 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
He signed with LSU as a three-star recruit in 2020 and started five games for the Tigers as a true freshman. He transferred to Auburn and started three games in two seasons for Bryan Harsin. Over his career, Finley has completed 63 percent of his 810 attempts for 6,128 yards, 37 touchdowns and 20 interceptions. He’s also run for eight scores.
Finley has two years of eligibility remaining.
He is one of nine Division I quarterbacks with at least 25 career starts to enter the portal thus far. Others include Matthew Sluka (UNLV), Mikey Keene (Fresno State), Gevani McCoy (Oregon State), E.J. Warner (Rice), Kaidon Salter (Liberty), Cade McNamara (Iowa), Michael Brescia (Colgate) and Reese Poffenbarger (Miami).
