After a blistering first half in a game in which it was initially uncertain whether he would play, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert exited in the third quarter against the Pittsburgh Steelers with an injury.
Herbert was battling a high ankle sprain and left the game after being sacked by the Steelers’ Cameron Heyward. He was seen walking delicately on the sidelines before he entered the medical tent for evaluation.
Backup quarterback Taylor Heinicke stepped in to replace Herbert.
