Nicholas Randall has been reappointed as chairman of Nottingham Forest in a boardroom shuffle that sees Tom Cartledge stepping down from the role he has held for only 13 months.
Cartledge has decided to leave his position to concentrate on his role as the chief executive of Handley House Group, the parent company for architecture firm Benoy, which has been involved in plans to redevelop the City Ground.
A lifelong fan, Cartledge took over as Forest’s chairman in August last year after the club’s owner, Evangelos Marinakis, decided to remove Randall from the position.
However, Randall has remained on the club’s board and his relationship with Marinakis has been repaired to the point he has been invited back for his second spell as chairman.
Cartledge had been instrumental in Forest looking at a potential move to Toton, on the Nottinghamshire-Derbyshire border, and giving up their current home. That idea has since been abandoned and Cartledge will continue to take an active role in the ongoing plans to redevelop the club’s stadium.
As such, Cartledge will also remain on the club’s board, with a view to the City Ground ultimately becoming a 42,000-capacity stadium.
“I have had an incredible experience over the last 15 months, working for the club I love and have supported all my life,” Cartledge said.
“It has been an honour and a privilege to help deliver on Mr Marinakis’ ambitious plans for the future of our club and I am proud of the progress we have achieved together on a number of key projects.”
