Former NFL and Virginia Tech quarterback Michael Vick will be Norfolk State’s next head coach, a person briefed on the matter told The Athletic.
An introductory news conference is expected to take place within a week, according to The Virginian-Pilot, which first reported the news. Vick, 44, lacks major coaching experience but told The Virginian-Pilot, “I know how to lead and I know what it takes.”
Vick had also spoken with Sacramento State about its head-coaching vacancy.
He replaces Dawson Odums, who Norfolk State fired after a four-year stint and a 15-30 record.
