Barcelona midfielder Gavi has returned to training for the first time in 10 months after injury.
The 20-year-old tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during Spain’s Euro qualifier against Georgia last November and as a result missed the rest of the 2023/24 season and Spain’s Euro 2024 victory in the summer.
However, the midfielder has now returned to working with the main group in a major boost for the Spanish side and was welcomed by team-mates at the session on Thursday.

Barcelona are still without midfielder Frenkie De Jong, who has been out of action since last April with an ankle injury. 17-year-old Marc Bernal has undergone surgery after suffering an ACL injury of his own and is expected to be out for 12 months while 21-year-old Fermin Lopez is set to miss three weeks with a hamstring injury.
Gavi came through Barcelona’s La Masia youth academy and quickly established himself as a key member of the club’s first team.
He has already made 111 appearances for the Spanish side, scoring seven goals, providing 14 assists, and helping Barca win La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup in 2023.
Barcelona have won all four of their league games this season, and hold a four-point lead over rivals Real Madrid. They are next in action against Girona on Sunday.
