New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers has been ruled out for the Giants’ Sunday Night Football meeting with the Bengals at MetLife Stadium, coach Brian Daboll said Friday.
This is the second consecutive game the Giants will be without Nabers (concussion) after he missed New York’s 29-20 win over the Seahawks in Seattle in Week 5. Nabers remained in concussion protocol last week following the injury late in the fourth quarter of the Giants’ 20-15 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4.
Nabers led the Giants (2-3) in receiving in each of his first four NFL games, collecting 35 catches for 386 yards and three touchdowns, and remains New York’s leading receiver so far this season.
Fantasy impact for Nabers
Nabers out is to repeat your plans from Week 5 into Week 6. Wan’Dale Robinson is a strong floor play again, and if you need the boom/bust potential of Darius Slayton, he’s your pickup. Slayton is in the conversation with Rashid Shaheed and will rank slightly ahead given Shaheed having a new quarterback. Desperate tight end teams can take a flier on Theo Johnson coming off his best game, in part because of the vacated Nabers’ targets, but like Slayton, both have very low floors given their risks. — Jake Ciely, senior fantasy writer
