Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is expected to make his return to the field Sunday against the Houston Texans, coach Doug Pederson told reporters Friday.

The Jaguars’ fourth-year QB missed the team’s past two games with a left shoulder injury. He was listed as a limited participant in practice on both Wednesday and Thursday.

“He’s done some really good things this week. I would say as of right now, yes, he will play,” Pederson said. “We’ll get through today, Friday and Saturday, but he’s had a good week.”

Lawrence has not played since the Jaguars’ Week 9 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He was listed as a limited participant in practices leading up to Jacksonville’s game against the Minnesota Vikings the following week, but was eventually ruled out. He then missed the Jaguars’ Week 11 game in Detroit.

Lawrence completed 168 of 274 passes for 2,004 yards and 11 touchdowns to six interceptions through Jacksonville’s first nine games this season. He added three rushing touchdowns.

Backup Mac Jones made his first start of the season — and first since Week 12 of the 2023 season while with New England — against the Vikings with Lawrence out, and started again the following week against the Lions. Jones was a combined 31-of-51 passing for 249 yards and three interceptions in the two games, scoring one rushing touchdown.

The Jaguars (2-9) return from their Week 12 bye in fourth place in the AFC South and have lost each of their past four games, including the last two without Lawrence.

They host the division-leading Texans (7-5) at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
