The New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys are among the many teams monitoring Davante Adams’ situation after the star wide receiver requested a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders, league sources said Wednesday. Both teams have checked with the Raiders regarding Adams, the sources said.
The Raiders are not in a rush to make a move until a team reaches their asking price — but Adams wants out as soon as possible, according to league sources. Las Vegas has told teams it would consider trade packages for Adams that include a second-round pick and additional compensation.
If the Raiders trade Adams, the team’s 2025 salary cap hit would be $15.7 million in dead money. The team acquiring him would be on the hook for the other $16.9 million in salary.
Adams — a six-time Pro Bowler — has been at the center of trade rumors since last year. The Raiders are just 16-22 since acquiring Adams, and his frustration has become public at times. But a rift emerged this week when a screenshot circulated on social media that appeared to show coach Antonio Pierce “liking” an Instagram post insinuating receiver Adams could be traded.
Adams didn’t play in the Raiders’ (2-2) win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday because of a hamstring injury. He attended the game and was on the sidelines in street clothes.
