Jobe Bellingham, Tyler Dibling receive first England Under-21 call-ups

Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham and Southampton winger Tyler Dibling have received their first England Under-21 call-ups for November’s fixtures against Spain and the Netherlands.

Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers has again been named in the under-21 squad after missing out on a senior call-up, despite Unai Emery questioning what he gains from playing youth international football earlier this season.

There is also a return for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, after his start to the 2024-25 campaign has been disrupted by a groin injury.

Newcastle United’s Tino Livramento is included after being part of Lee Carsley’s senior squad in the past two international windows.

Bellingham, 19, has made 13 appearances in all competitions this season, providing two goals and three assists, as Sunderland sit top of the Championship. He has previously been capped up to under-20 level.

Dibling, 18, has broken into the Southampton first team this season, impressing on his full Premier League debut against Manchester United in September and scoring his first senior goal against Ipswich Town the following week.

The November fixtures are set to be interim head coach Ben Futcher’s final two in charge of the under-21s, with Carsley to return to his former position as Thomas Tuchel officially begins the role of England men’s senior manager from January 1.

England Under-21s play Spain on November 15 and Netherlands on November 18 in a pair of international friendlies, having qualified for next summer’s European Under-21 Championships last month. Futcher has named a 24-man squad for the camp.
