Kevin Durant, Jaylen Brown and James Harden highlight the cast of NBA players featured in season two of the Netflix documentary series “Starting 5,” the streaming service announced Tuesday.

The new cast will also include Tyrese Haliburton and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Season one, which debuted on Oct. 9, highlighted LeBron James, Anthony Edwards, Jimmy Butler, Domantas Sabonis and Jayson Tatum and created immediate buzz in the basketball community.

The series focuses on the human elements of players around the league, including but not limited to the athletes’ routines and their lives on and off the court during the 2023-24 season. The show takes an inside look at injuries, family life and mental health.

The first season was produced by Uninterrupted, LeBron James’ production company, with the help of Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions and Higher Ground, a production company founded by former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama. Season one gave viewers a look into the players’ personal lives — including how James and his wife, Savannah, dealt with Bronny James’ cardiac arrest in July 2023, as well as Butler revealing the death of his father during the season.

It also focused on Tatum winning his first NBA championship, Edwards admitting his conditioning wasn’t where it needed to be in the Western Conference finals and how Sabonis handled the Kings’ Play-In Tournament loss.

A premiere date for Season 2 has yet to be announced.
