Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni is set to miss between four and six weeks with a sprained ankle.
The Frenchman was substituted off at half-time in Madrid’s 3-1 defeat at home to AC Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday, and was replaced by international team-mate Eduardo Camavinga.
Tchouameni, 24, had struggled during the match and had conceded possession with a lose pass that led to Alvaro Morata giving Milan a 2-1 lead in the 39th minute.
The former Monaco midfielder is now set to miss Saturday’s La Liga match at home to Osasuna and the France vice-captain is also likely to miss his international side’s Nations League matches against Israel and Italy this month.
Madrid return to action after the international break away to Leganes in La Liga on November 24 before an away Champions League fixture at Liverpool three days later and a home league games against Getafe on November 30.
Tchouameni has started all 10 of Madrid’s La Liga matches so far this campaign and has been involved in all four Champions League games for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, starting three.
