Tottenham Hotpsur winger Wilson Odobert has undergone surgery on a right hamstring injury.
Spurs confirmed in a statement that Odobert had surgery on Saturday and the Frenchman posted a picture of himself at London’s Princess Grace Hospital on social medai.
Odobert initially sustained a hamstring injury during Tottenham’s Carabao Cup win over Coventry City on September 15 that the club had said would keep him out for “a number of weeks” in October.
Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou then said later that month that Odobert had suffered a “serious” setback. “(It’s) not exactly the same (injury) but (it’s the) same area,” the Australian added.
“We can confirm that Wilson Odobert underwent surgery to his right hamstring yesterday (Saturday 16 November),” Spurs’ statement said on Sunday.
“The 19-year-old will continue to be closely monitored by our medical team to determine when he can return to training.”
The club have not yet put an exact timeframe on Odobert’s return from surgery.
Odobert joined Tottenham from Burnley for a fee of up to £30million ($37.9m) in August. He previously registered three goals and three assists for Burnley in the 2023-24 Premier League season after signing from Troyes.
Spurs return to action against Manchester City on Saturday, November 23.
